An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dudley Rehabilitation Service (DRS), for an individual to support the Stroke service as a Therapy Assistant Practitioner.
This is a great opportunity to work with a well established and high functioning admin team, to enable the specialist Stroke teams to work effective and efficiently. The post holder will be working closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Speech therapists, Dieticians and nurses as well as liaising with patients and other services on a daily basis.
The post is part time time (22.5 hours) and is based at Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre.
The Stroke team provides an important and integral part of the rehabilitation of patients following a stroke.
Main duties of the job
To provide effective and efficient rehabilitation under the supervision of qualified therapists to a caseload of adult patients who have had a stroke and require community rehabilitation.
To carry out and progress rehabilitation programs set by Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians and Speech & Language Therapists in a variety of settings, including working alone in patient's homes.

Person Specification
Qualification
* NVQ III Health and social Care / Promoting Independence / BTEC or NVQ level II working towards level III or equivalent experience
* IT Training / knowledge and experience
* 5 GCSEs including English and Maths to grade C or equivalent
Knowledge
* Good understanding of rehabilitation
* Good understanding of the impact of a stroke on a patient and their family
Skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
