We are seeking a

proactive, passionate and committed team leader to join our team at InFocus Charity to cover a period of maternity leave. The post holder will inspire and support their team so they can perform their role safely and to the best of their ability.

Within the role, you will lead a team of Enablers to support young people with a vision impairment and additional complex needs, to access the Life and Living Skills Programme. The programme is designed to support young people to practice choice, control and independence in real time and context, enabling people to maximise their potential. Each person has a clear, personalised living skills, accessing community support programme to fully prepare for their next step, whatever that may be. This could include your team supporting the young person to visit new services to support choice and control about transition and where the person would like to live. Your role will include coordinating day to day activities, planning your staffing and organising larger events such as; holidays, music festivals and parties.

College Residential is where our young people reside when accessing the Life and Living Skills Programme and the Main College. Here you will continue to support your team to deliver high quality care and support to our young people, to develop their independence and daily living skills.

At weekends, our young people like to get out, explore and socialise, you will lead and encourage the teams to plan and organise leisure and social activities within the community. This role will also include conducting supervisions, providing support with the onboarding of new employees, and continuing to encourage and make positive improvements to the service.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed and has relevant care experience. You see the potential in everyone and enjoy helping people to reach their goals. You will be working as part of a close team of staff, which you will lead. You will be supported by the College Residential Managers, and provided with supervision and support.

Working pattern
