Senior Utility Surveyor On behalf of our client, we are recruiting an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor to join their team due to an expanding workload. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and committed professional to take on a challenging and varied role with strong career prospects.The RoleThe successful candidate will have at least 4–5 years’ experience delivering detailed underground utility surveys and will be able to demonstrate proven capability in the use of Electromagnetic Location (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology to produce accurate utility mapping surveys. Experience across multiple survey disciplines would be advantageous.Key ResponsibilitiesCarrying out site surveys in accordance with work instructionsUndertaking thorough investigative utility surveys and completing all required paperwork in line with company proceduresLiaising with site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, and clientsProducing Utility Survey ReportsCompleting quality control checks prior to issuing drawings to clientsMentoring and training less experienced surveyorsGathering data to produce mapping information for underground and overground servicesCompleting on-site detecting and mapping activities, including:High- and low-frequency Ground Penetrating RadarGPR in mark-out modeElectromagnetic location methodsDrainage surveysLeading and coordinating field teams on siteOverseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure quality deliveryUndertaking PAS128 surveysWorking independently while following instructions and using own initiativeSkills and Experience RequiredPrevious experience working as a Utility Surveyor, ideally with supervisory responsibilityAdvanced skills in the use of electromagnetic and GPR equipmentStrong understanding of utility provider drawingsExtensive knowledge and experience in underground utility mapping and GPRKnowledge of topographical surveying equipment is beneficial but not essentialExperience working in a wide range of environments and on complex surveysFull UK driving licenceRight to work in the UKExperience training and mentoring other staffWillingness to work away from home on occasionExperience in post-processing GPR data is desirableNVQ Level 3 or Level 5 qualification is beneficial but not essentialCSCS qualification is beneficial but not essentialPackage and BenefitsAttractive salary, dependent on experiencePrivate healthcareCompany pension schemeCompany vehiclePerformance-related bonusesExcellent long-term career opportunitiesSupport with continuing professional development and job-related trainingThis position would suit an experienced Utility Surveyor seeking a senior, hands-on role within a growing and well-established survey team.
