The Governing Body of St Alban's Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a who will work closely with the Governing Body in its clear aspiration for ongoing improvement in teaching and learning. The candidate will work with the Headteacher to further the achievements of this long-established Catholic school, noted for its aspiration, and commitment to every child within this close-knit Catholic community.
St Alban's Catholic Primary School is an integral part of the Cardiff Oratory's pastoral and educational mission within the Archdiocese of Cardiff. The Governing Body and whole school staff are committed to working for every child in close partnership with parents. We are searching for a Class Teacher and Leader of Religious Education who:
•Is a practising Catholic who exhibits a clear understanding about the purpose of Catholic education and will lead and model our Catholic ethos and values within school and throughout the wider community.
•Is proven as an excellent Catholic teacher, with high standards and a determination to facilitate rapid rates of progress in all pupils.
•Is committed to school improvement and has the necessary skills to motivate and drive initiatives.
•Is skilled at mentoring and supporting colleagues in the journey towards excellence.
•Fosters strong partnerships with pupils, staff, parents, governors and the local community to provide an environment where all are supported to achieve their full potential.
•Has a good sense of humour, a positive disposition and the enthusiasm to support the Headteacher and Governors in leading and managing the school.
Under the Teacher and Higher Education Act 1998 and the Teachers (Compulsory Registration) Wales Regulations 2000, every qualified teacher, who is employed in a maintained school must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
