Job Description:
The Assistant File Handler (AFH) will work with a Lead File Handler managing Hourly Rate Industrial Disease claims, including but not limited to NIHL, HAVS, CTS, WRULDs, as well as RTA claims involving Tinnitus, Acoustic Shock, Hearing Loss, BBPV, PPPD, Orthopaedic, Neurological, Psychological injuries, and other CIC cases. Responsibilities include pursuing case progression and resolution within the Complex Disease Litigation Department on fast and multi-track cases.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out tasks assigned by the File Handler, ensuring compliance with client SLAs and court deadlines.
* Draft Court Documents and engage in Negotiation and Advocacy, including attending telephone hearings.
* Analyze evidence, report to clients, and liaise with Counsel/experts.
* Prepare bundles, update MI, and ensure adherence to SRA Standards & Regulations.
This list is not exhaustive. Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in claims handling (pre-litigation or litigated).
* Understanding of litigation processes.
* Ability to work under instruction from a Lead File Handler.
* Motivated to develop as a File Handler and aware of legal developments.
* Ability to meet targets and deadlines, understanding client needs, and comply with Keoghs Values.
