Job summary
The post holder will support andfacilitate staff and/ or students in clinical and non-clinical areas toidentify learning and clinical support opportunities for maintaining andimproving standards of patient care through education.
The post holder will, in liaison andcollaboration with Children's Services Senior Nursing Team, support staff to facilitate the delivery of a high qualityservice using research and evidence based practice; including the delivery ofeducation and training and the setting, monitoring and auditing of clinicalstandards.
The post holder will work closely with the Professional Developmentand Education Team to provide high standard education and training for nursesand other non-medical learners to expand their skills and support theircontinuing professional development.
Main duties of the job
1. In all aspects of their role be able to evidence how they contribute towards consistent and sustained improvements in standards of practice and clinical care. Ensure there are effective systems/framework/activities in place to secure sustainable developments in education and practice.
2. Evidence consistent and sustained improvements in relation to the competency of staff and their progression and development through further development of competency frameworks and work-based modules
3. Support trust-wide improvements in patient care outcomes as a result of standardisation of practice across the Trust.
4. Evidence improved reflective practice via professional supervision systems.
5. Evidence improved service efficiency, reduced length of stay and productivity in relation to practice and patient focused outcomes.
6. Design, deliver and evaluate education and training packages and support ward, unit and team managers and matrons to ensure high standards of care are provided to all patients.
7. Work with minimum supervision and coordinate own activities to ensure that efficient service is provided.

To function as a practicing professional working directly alongside trained staff, students and support staff for at least 50% of the role participating in direct patient care in line with the NMC code.
To plan and maximise opportunities to deliver work-based learning.
As a member of Children's Services support the review and development of annual departmental education, training and development plans and ensure they remain relevant and contributory to the Directorate and Corporate plans.
As a member of the Professional Development Team, develop, maintain and implement a competency-based framework for all relevant areas of clinical practice.
To support the development and implementation of the Trusts model of clinical supervision.
To support the Assistant Director of Nursing, Education and Workforce Development, in developing and maintaining non-medical workforce learning environments to meet the performance standards of external quality assurance bodies.
Critically examine working practices within the department to identify cost improvements and effective measures, develop and implement action plans.
The post holder will ensure the proper use of the Trusts resources such as stationery, telephone usage, photocopying and other consumables in the course of business, ensuring minimal waste and minimal cost.
