A bit about the role…
This role will report to the Grocery & Supermarkets Channel Manager and is responsible for executing the retail strategy &, ‘go to market’ plans in collaboration with selected retailer partners in your business unit, to drive both sales and good causes in a responsible manner. As the SNAM you will lead the strategic delivery of the account plans as well as being responsible for the management of your identified portfolio. The role will involve high levels of collaboration across internal and external stakeholders as you will lead the deployment of our transformation plan for your selected retailers, as well as leading a team of NAMs and NAEs to support you in delivering this and BAU plans brilliantly. The SNAM will work closely with the Channel Manager to formulate the Grocery strategy and will be a thought leader within the Grocery & Supermarkets Team, as well as the wider Retail Channels Team.
This role is offered on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be required travel at least bi-weekly to our Watford HQ and be prepared to travel to locations around the UK with some overnight stays as and when required. This role will come with a company car and fuel card.
What you’ll be doing…
* Deliver the sales and good causes targets for designated major multiple retailers within the designated business unit, with high direct TNL turnover/complexity
* Thought Leadership to support the Channel Manager to deliver channel specific thinking and strategies that transcend your own accounts and deputise for channel manager where required.
* Work alongside SNAM (Integration and New Business) to deliver any new technology projects in your account
* Work with key internal stakeholders to develop & implement winning sales, revenue & engagement driving programmes within your retailers
* Thought Leadership to support the Channel Manager to deliver channel specific thinking and strategies that transcend your own accounts and deputise for channel manager where required.
* Strategic thinking for business unit & support channel strategy, for activation of the new Licence and the transformation programme.
* Demonstrate and lead strong cross functional working relationships internally
* Build a strong network of external stakeholders within relevant retail channels at a senior level (from Buyer to Director level) across multiple departments.
* Provide long term insight based on market and retailer trends, helping to inform TNL plans within designated customers
* Develop a thorough understanding of retailers and generate key insights to drive strategic thinking and day-to-day activities
* Take a lead role in delivering key projects within designated retailers/channel, including leading and managing internal, external and 3rd party stakeholders
* Manage and be accountable for all business unit spend ensuring all Allwyn processes are followed
* Work alongside or within the retailers’ organisation to ensure plans are implemented across all the relevant departments
* Develop and implement a robust comms plan to stores to ensure key business measurements (availability / compliance) are maintained and improved
* Analyse business performance & KPI’s and generate key insights, identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to maximise sales revenues and profits
* Identify opportunities for new or existing product development and placement within assigned retailers
* Develop the e-Commerce Scratchcard plan for the retailers
* Deliver Responsible Play objectives with designated retailers including Op 18 and Health Play
* Lead, coach, manage and motivate 2 x NAMs and indirectly manage one NAE to deliver their customer plans through the retail contact strategy
What experience we’re looking for…
Essential Criteria
* Experience of managing major multiple retailers with high direct turnover, from business plan development through to delivery of objectives
* Proven experience working as an Account Manager (or similar) within FMCG or Retail business
* Previous direct line management experience of NAE or NAM
* Proven ability to manage customer relationships at Director level
* Delivery and formulation of Joint Business Plans to retailers with proven results
* Experience of trials with new retailers utilising the current business technology and processes
* Understanding of retailer’s needs, business strategy and operations
* Evidence of strong negotiating skills and experience of dealing with major multiple customers or 3rd parties and developing strong customer business plans
* Experience of analysing financial and business performance providing insight and recommendations to help form wider plans
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing
* Knowledge of customer’s competitors and Allwyn’s competitors
* Confident in presenting in front of large audiences both internally and externally
* Strong awareness of reporting software with ability to create reports
* Project management experience with large budgets
* Exceptional ability to work cross functionally
* Proficient in Microsoft Office & Google suite of products
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience managing a Top 6 Retailer
* Previous experience of running an account P&L
* Proven track record of working cross-functionally to drive innovation and a culture of continuous improvement across the team, function and organisation, via using a data driven approach.
* Knowledge of current & future technological developments for retail and their use.
* Demonstrable knowledge of the retail marketplace (beyond The National Lottery).
* Demonstrable ability to convert insight into strategies and plans.
* Demonstrable knowledge of revenue and cost
* Experience of forecasting and delivering against MME (Trade Marketing) forecast

Uses a strong degree of judgement, discretion and creativity, aligned to Channel Manager, to persuade accounts to adopt a favourable view and decide to promote TNL products.
* Leadership: Strategic Planning - Executes retail strategy linking this with the strategic goals of accounts within the business unit, to deliver effective account plans. Thought leadership required to support Retail Channels Leadership with wider strategic retail projects and plans, leading the way on behalf of Retail Channels.
* Leadership: Financial Management - Directs the allocation of resources to meet financial performance requirements; Delivers required return on investment through effective financial management
* Leadership: Development - Ability to coach, mentor and develop colleagues within your business unit and support wider retail colleague development.
