Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location: Oakfield Secondary Provision Forest Street, Shepshed LE12 9DB (travel may be necessary between sites) Salary: £32,070 - £34,359 (Per annum) (pay Award Pending) Working Hours: 37 hrs per week full time Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date : 10th June 2026 Interview Date(s): 19th June 2026 About the Role About Us and Role Overview: Oakfield Short Stay School is Leicestershire’s provision for school aged children who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from school. We have expanded the age range of Oakfield School and as a result we are recruiting staff. We have satellites bases across Leicestershire and in this role you will be responsible for ensuring that there is an efficient, reliable and usable ICT service to support curriculum and administrative provision in the school. Therefore, you will be part of a vital team in an exciting period of development, working with us to meet the needs of children and young people between the ages of 5 and 16 who struggle to manage in mainstream and need a different offer of education to secure their successful next steps. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and Inspire: Take ownership of the School's network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networking, switching, routing and firewall configuration, with particular responsibility for pupil based networking environments. • Support Reintegration: Support the delivery of the School's Digital Strategy by translating strategic objectives into robust, secure and scalable technical solutions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, services and infrastructure. • Accountability: Manage and develop on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance and resilience • Promote Inclusion: Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel valued and supported. About You To apply for this post, you must be/have: BTEC (Higher), NVQ4 or equivalent relevant qualification plus experience Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting Postholder will have considerable technical skills often gained through many years’ experience Experience of responding to national changes within the educational landscape through strategic leadership Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate well to people on all levels, diplomatic but assertive. A collaborative and supportive approach, working well with colleagues across departments.
