Operations and Maintenance Engineer
Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are currently recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area. This will include the top of M25, M4, M11, and the bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Our Operations and Maintenance Engineers are critical in the delivery of our contracts, whether that involves delivering or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.
What you’ll do:
* Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
* Ensure all equipment commissioning is completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
* Address equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
* Perform general maintenance and commissioning of equipment, testing on fibre and copper.
* Complete all required documentation promptly.
Who you are:
You will have prior experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing within fibre or copper environments.
Key Requirements:
* Experience with motorway communications or related equipment/systems.
* Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing & testing.
* Strong health and safety awareness.
* Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
* Availability to work overtime or on call as required.
* Full UK driving license.
