Credit Risk Analyst / Underwriter Payments Manchester or London (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

What youll actually do day-to-day This isnt theory its hands-on, real-world credit risk.
Youll be responsible for assessing and evaluating new merchant applications, reviewing financials, and completing the full due-diligence journey. Youll decide on risk scores, recommend security terms, and play a major role in monitoring existing merchants to keep our portfolio safe.
Youll also own and maintain the Merchant Risk Register, investigate risk events, and work closely with our Head of Underwriting & Credit Risk to keep our frameworks aligned to best practice and regulatory expectations.
This is a hybrid role working 37.5 hours per week, and youll need to be within a comfortable commute to either our Manchester or London office. The team is made up of five people, and youll be joining a highly experienced group wholl help you grow and shape your career.
What were looking for At least 2 years experience in a credit risk or underwriting role
Ideally from a payments organisation, acquirer, or fintech with a strong risk focus
Confident reading and interpreting financial statements
Able to apply risk policy to real operational scenarios
Comfortable speaking directly with merchants and internal teams
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, autonomous way of working
Great communication skills, written and verbal
