Overview
Ambulance Fleet Assistant (AFA) based in Leeds. The AFA position ensures full compliance of routine scheduled mechanical work, ancillary equipment, and vehicle deep cleans. You will ensure reported defects are rectified promptly and that the fleet management system (Fleetcheck) is updated daily to reflect completed maintenance events. The role will manage Vehicle Off Road (VOR) status and update daily, ensure defects are cleared, and oversee vehicle deep cleans with supporting documentation uploaded. You will cover scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs efficiently, and control parts stock levels, replenishing as used.
Responsibilities
* Manage VOR status daily; ensure defects are cleared and deep cleans are completed with supporting documentation uploaded.
* Cover scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs in an efficient and effective manner.
* Control parts stock levels and replenish as used.
* Travel to EMED bases to repair, service and maintain product/equipment as per the manufacturer’s guidelines as required.
* Carry out checks and replacements of electrical components in line with EMED guidelines.
* Ensure tools and spare parts are kept safely, securely, and maintained.
* Maintain adequate supply of basic spare parts within the Nottinghamshire Contract and report defects per the defect process.
* Work safely, adhering to Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Advise Fleet management if a product cannot be repaired to a safe standard; arrange return to manufacturer or on-site attendance as needed.
* Record equipment involved in incidents with the Fleet management team.
* Perform service and repair in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
* Ensure all vehicles for disposal are de-kitted and maintain a log of equipment removed.
Essential
* Experience of repairing and servicing mechanical products.
* Experience using practical and mechanical skills.
* Ability to read and interpret blown view drawings.
* Ability to identify process and service improvements.
* Positive and professional approach to customers and colleagues.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, including ability to work to tight deadlines and to act on own initiative.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of people, including customers, colleagues and suppliers.

* Hold a full, current Manual driving licence for driving in the UK with fewer than 6 points.

* Ferno ancillary equipment accreditation (training will be given).
