Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their in-house legal team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with expertise in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Assist in managing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal support.
* Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes, focusing on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Expert legal skills with ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising on laws across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files while collaborating with business teams.
* Capable of balancing the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
