We are a dedicated tuition consultancy working in partnership with Hillingdon Local Authority to deliver essential 1-1 tuition for students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. With growing demand for our services, we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Functional Skills Tutors to join our expanding team and help transform young lives.
The Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you’ll provide personalised Maths and English tuition to students in Hillingdon, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll assess, plan, and deliver engaging sessions tailored to each individual, supporting learners to build confidence and achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, 1-1 Functional Skills tuition in Maths and English
* Assess students’ individual needs and starting points
* Develop and implement personalised learning plans
* Adapt teaching methods for students with SEN and SEMH needs
* Monitor and report on student progress
* Work collaboratively with families, schools, and the local authority
What We’re Looking For
* Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills Maths and English
* Proven experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs
* Ability to assess, plan, and deliver creative, effective tuition
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Empathetic, flexible, and professional approach
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
