We are looking to recruit an estimator for a very successful growing construction company. The work they do is predominantly strip out, refurbishment and fit out in nature. The clients are predominately light industrial, shopping centres, universities, and housing associations. Project values typically range from £25,000 to £2m
For this role you must have experience of working as an estimator in the commercial construction sector. We would look at all levels from junior estimator through to managing estimator. Salaries will be dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing tenders, cost plans, and pricing documents.
* Assessing drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
* Conducting take-offs and bill preparation.
* Liaising with supply chain partners for quotations.
* Prepare and submit competitive tender submissions within deadlines.
* Assisting with procurement strategies and value engineering.
* Supporting handovers to the operations team following tender award.
* Maintaining accurate tender records and documentation.
* Working closely with the operational and commercial teams.
You must have:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction sector
* Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Cost Engineering, or equivalent is advantageous.
* Experience with estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway) is advantageous.
* Competent broad knowledge of construction principles.
* Ability to work clearly and accurately under pressure.
* Excellent communication and organisation skills.
* Full UK Driving license.
* Willingness to travel for site visits within the M25 area.
