Job Role
The role primarily involves preparing year-end accounts and general bookkeeping for review by client managers and senior managers.
The responsibilities include:
1. Preparation of draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
2. General bookkeeping, including processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and reconciliations
3. Preparation of VAT returns up to draft stage
4. Attending client meetings
5. Potential collaboration with our Audit team for additional experience
6. Handling ad-hoc client queries
7. Training and mentoring junior team members
This is a key role within the business. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritize in a busy environment while managing client expectations.
Role Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
* Effective communication with clients
* Managing deadlines
* Liaising with senior management
* Working collaboratively within a team
* Strong attention to detail
The candidate should be studying towards a Chartered accountancy qualification (ACCA, CA, ICAEW). A full UK driving license is preferred due to job requirements.
This role suits someone looking to gain in-depth experience across a broader client base within a larger firm.
Remuneration
The package includes:
* An annual salary of £20,000-£32,000, dependent on study progress and exams passed, with pay increases linked to exam success throughout the year
* Company pension contributions of 3%
* 21 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, plus 2 additional days off at set times
* One volunteer day per year for community service
* After probation, up to 2 days per week WFH, booked in advance
