The role
As a Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in supporting military vehicle systems. This position is part of the RIISM (Repair, Inspection, Installation, and Support Management) Team, where you’ll focus on the inspection, maintenance, and testing of military communications equipment known as Vehicle Installation Kits (VIKs) specifically those used with the BOWMAN tactical communications system, a key part of the British Army’s secure communications network.
Day-to-day, you’ll carry out sample confirmatory inspections on vehicle or equipment BOWMAN VIKs, assist with preparation reparation, management and storage of both electronic and hard copies of documentation and records, along with carrying out detailed fault finding and repairs where requested to do so.
* Conduct sample inspections on vehicles or equipment fitted with BOWMAN VIKs.
* Assist with the preparation, repair, and management of documentation—both electronic and paper-based.
* Perform detailed fault-finding and repairs when required.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
