About the Role
We are currently supporting a growing organisation in Glasgow who are seeking to appoint a Credit Controller to join their expanding finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business experiencing continued growth, where the successful candidate will play a key role within the credit control function. The role offers exposure beyond traditional credit control responsibilities, with the opportunity to contribute to wider finance activities and ongoing process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactively manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
2. Contact customers regarding overdue invoices to secure payment, agree payment plans, or establish reasons for non-payment
3. Maintain accurate records of all communications and payment commitments
4. Monitor and follow up on promises to pay, ensuring adherence to agreed terms
5. Investigate and resolve customer queries and disputes in a timely manner, escalating where appropriate
6. Support the preparation and issuing of reminder communications and escalation processes
7. Allocate and reconcile unidentified payments accurately and efficiently
8. Liaise with internal departments to resolve billing issues and reduce payment delays
9. Proactively engage with customers ahead of due dates where required
10. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit control function
11. Provide wider support to the finance team as required

12. Strong communication skills with confidence in dealing with customers and stakeholders
13. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills within a fast-paced environment
14. Strong negotiation and influencing abilities

16. Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team
