SEN Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill

This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Support Worker, or those looking to start a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Work with children with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
Assist in delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning support
Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to implement EHCP targets
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people (school or care setting desirable)
A strong interest in SEN and inclusive education
Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to take initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
Experience in a primary school setting
