Goods Out Manager
Department: Warehouse Operations
Reports to: Warehouse Management Team
Direct Reports: Warehouse Team Leaders & Goods Out Late Team
Working Hours: 12:45 – 22:00 weekdays, 07:45 – 17:00 weekends (rotational).
Role Overview
The Goods Out Manager oversees the outbound warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate order fulfilment, replenishments, and 3PL collaborations. Working with the Goods In Manager and Inventory Optimisation Manager, they ensure smooth outbound workflows aligned with operational goals.
Reporting to the Warehouse Management Team, this role manages multiple teams via Warehouse Team Leaders and directly oversees the Goods Out Late Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end Goods Out functions, from picking to dispatch.
* Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of B2C and B2B orders.
* Oversee store-to-store replenishments for retail branches.
* Lead the Goods Out Late Team, supporting their development.
* Support Warehouse Team Leaders across shifts.
* Monitor productivity, quality, and dispatch timelines.
* Work with Inventory Management to maintain stock accuracy.
* Coordinate inbound/outbound workflows with Goods In Manager.
* Manage relationships with 3PL partners and couriers.
* Maintain health & safety and operational compliance.
* Produce KPI reports and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Develop warehouse staff through training and feedback.
Skills & Experience
* Proven warehouse leadership in outbound operations.
* Experience with 3PL, order systems, and high-volume fulfilment.
* Ability to manage diverse teams across shifts.
* Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Hands-on leadership with a calm, proactive approach.
* Knowledge of WMS, Excel/ERP, and dispatch platforms.
* Adaptability to fluctuating workloads.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in multi-site or multi-channel fulfilment.
* Forklift license or MHE understanding.
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Overtime at 1.5x hourly rate
Unsocial hours pay after 8pm at 15% of hourly rate.
