We are looking for enthusiastic residential care workers to join a warm and supportive team dedicated to caring for children and young people. No two days are the same in this dynamic role; you will plan engaging activities, provide one‑on‑one support, and accompany young people on off‑site trips.
Responsibilities
* Providing emotional support during challenging times.
* Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving goals and maximizing their potential.
* Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals.
* Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
* Empowering young people to actively participate in decision‑making about their lives and future.
* Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion.
* Encouraging community engagement, attending off‑site activities, and expanding their personal social networks.
* Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities, and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.).
Requirements
* Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
* Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential.
* No prior experience necessary; only a commitment and passion for working with young people.
* Availability for sleep‑in shifts.
Benefits
* Additional £30 per sleep‑in shift (£2,880‑3,600 per year based on 8‑10 sleep‑ins per month).
* Full two weeks of paid training before starting the role.
* Overtime rate of 1.25.
* Enhanced DBS covered.
* Comprehensive induction and training provided.
* Rota provided four weeks in advance.
Shift Patterns
* Two to three shifts per week on a full‑time basis.
* Shift pattern: 2 days in, 4 days off; sleep‑ins are mandatory.
* Additional payment of £30 per sleep‑in shift.
