Job Title: Laser Cutter Operative (with Brake Press / Folding Experience - Sheet Metal) Location: Gillingham, Kent Hours: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:30 (with overtime available up to 17:00 daily) Pay: £13.50 TO £14.00 DOE per hour overtime daily after 14:30 at Time and Half Type: Ongoing role, Temp to Perm About the Role An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laser Cutter Operative with Brake Press (Folding) experience to join a busy sheet metal fabrication workshop. This is a hands-on role where you will be working with a variety of sheet metal components, producing precision parts for a range of industries. You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating laser cutting and press brake machines, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality output on every job. Key Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate laser cutting machines for sheet metal components. Operate and set up CNC Brake Press machines for folding and forming sheet metal. Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications. Carry out regular quality checks on finished parts to meet tight tolerances. Work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium sheet in varying thicknesses. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area. Perform routine machine checks and report any technical issues. Requirements Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in sheet metal laser cutting and Brake Press (folding). Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD files. Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes. Proven ability to set up and adjust machinery independently. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with overtime availability.
