Overview
Credit Risk AI Consultant – (Data & Analytics – CRA / Scorecards). The role involves scraping, combining, and managing data from diverse sources and applying statistical expertise to uncover insights. You will prototype and develop AI solutions that push the boundaries of big data analytics for a leading financial institution.
Responsibilities
* Conduct in‑depth analysis of data available to the company and its partners.
* Collaborate with product managers to conduct market research and validate product needs.
* Develop and test AI models and algorithms, utilizing platforms such as Vertex AI and BigQuery.
* Contribute to the creation of business cases for proposed AI solutions.
* Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of AI projects.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior analysts.
* Maintain proficiency in Python and stay updated on advancements in AI and machine learning.
* Apply knowledge of data structures, analytics, and algorithms to prepare datasets, conduct analytics, and develop deployable solutions.
* Collect, analyze, and interpret large data assets to define and build innovative solution components, supporting analytical strategy and identifying opportunities.
* Lead the development of projects with multiple deliverables across business and analytical domains, including predictive models, risk assessments, fraud detection, recommendation engines, and more.
* Package, summarize, visualize, and tell stories with analytical findings for management and business users.
* Communicate results to external stakeholders and mid‑level leadership, clearly explaining business impact.
Qualifications
* Relevant numerical degree (minimum 2:1).
* Solid experience in data analysis, machine learning, and AI development.
* Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based AI platforms and tools.
* Proficiency in Python and SQL.
* Experience with credit bureau data and scorecards is advantageous.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and visualization skills.
* Strong experience in a related analytics role.
* Proven track record of designing and developing predictive models in real‑world applications.
* Experience with model performance evaluation and optimization for accuracy and efficiency.
* Cloud certification (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) strongly preferred.
* Additional role‑based certifications may be required depending on region/BU requirements.
* Innovative mindset and attention to detail.
Benefits
This is a hybrid position requiring three days in the office and two days remote, located in Leeds. Salary ranges from £70,000 to £90,000 depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including pension and bonus opportunities.
