Position Summaryof the Supplier Quality Engineer Role at Altek Electronics:
The Supplier Quality Engineer directly supports Altek’s Mission and Vision through focus on achieving customer satisfaction and improvement of the Altek Quality Management System.
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer are described below, other duties may be assigned:
* Work with new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with requirements
* Work with Purchasing to review supplier performance and address underperformance
* Provides relevant reporting and recommendations to the Quality Manager
* Supports internal and external customers related to quality issues and problem solving
* Interfaces with or directs communication between appropriate Altek personnel, suppliers, and customers to ensure customer expectations related to quality and auditing, are being appropriately addressed.
* Performs PPAP/FAI related tasks and reporting
* Provides hands on support relative to quality issues, error proofing opportunities, supplier complaint resolution
* Track key quality related trends and initiate RCCA as warranted
* Conduct PPAP, FMEA, FAIR, Control plans as needed
* Conduct Internal and Supplier Audits as needed to ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001, ISO13485, and NADCAP standards.
Knowledge and Skills Required to be the Supplier Quality Engineer at Altek
* Experienced with AS9100, ISO 13485, and NADCAP AC7120 and AC7121 standards.
* Experience in electronics manufacturing and/or printed circuit board industry desired
* Experienced in the use of basic inspection equipment.
* High level ability to create and maintain quality metric charts.
* Strong Math skills to support Quality initiatives.
* Strong leadership, and organizational skills
* Knowledge and hands on experience in Quality principles, practices, tools and technique
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work independently
* Desire to grow into a leadership role, over time
Computer Skills
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, Minitab
* Ability to manipulate, interpret, and present data
Education and/or Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or 5 years as a Quality Technician.
* Lean and/or Six Sigma certification .
* ASQ certification
* IPC 610/620 certified or become certified with an agreed upon time frame.
Working Conditions
* Work involves lifting materials and product up to 30 pounds.
* Occasional travel to visit customers or suppliers may be required.
