HR Shared Services Manager

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading international organisation in the childcare sector. With a global presence, rapid UK expansion, and strong investment in people, this is an exciting opportunity for an HR Shared Services Manager to join their Manchester team.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring employees across multiple offices and 100+ UK sites receive outstanding people support. You’ll lead a small team, take ownership of first-line queries, and play a key role in enhancing the overall employee experience.

The HR Shared Services function is the first point of contact for all people, policy, and employment queries. As Manager, you’ll be hands-on in resolving issues, managing escalations, and ensuring your team delivers a service that is accurate, timely, and employee-focused. Your work will directly impact employee satisfaction, helping the business continue its growth journey.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading, coaching, and developing a team of People Assistants
* Acting as first-line support for queries, as well as managing escalations
* Monitoring and reporting on KPIs around query resolution and service levels
* Conducting quality audits to ensure consistent, high-standard responses
* Providing People data insights to improve employee experience and satisfaction
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in an HR Shared Services or people-focused Helpdesk environment
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* A hands-on approach with the ability to balance leadership and direct support
