Our client based in Verwood has a requirement for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a part-time basis.
Reporting to the Finance Director you will be tasked with managing the day-to-day accounting/payroll functions of the business, preparing monthly management accounts to trial balance, and managing banking, cash flow, credit control and invoice financing facility.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Monthly Management Accounts
Banking/Cashflow/Invoice Finance Facility
Sales Ledger and Credit Control
Tooling Invoices
Payroll/HR
Premises and Utilities Checking/monitoring electricity/gas/water/waste services invoicing and liaising with relevant suppliers/consultants as required and managing quarterly rent/service charge invoicing and liaising with landlords agent as required.
Ensuring smooth day to day running of the Accounts Department, including line management of the Accounts/Payroll Administrator and being the main point of contact for all accounting and payroll queries
Reviewing and streamlining accounting processes and ensuring work instructions are kept up to date.
Answering the phone and dealing with general enquiries
Supporting and covering for Accounts/Payroll Administrator as required
Applicants will ideally have several years of general accounts and payroll experience, AAT qualified or part qualified, with experience of using Sage (preferably) or other accounting packages and good Excel skills.
The position is offered on a part-time temp to perm basis, we envisage the required hours will be 20-25 hours per week (4-5 hours per day), exact hours can be flexible including to work around the school day.
