Group Head of Financial Reporting | Leeds (Hybrid with regular travel to London)| £70,000 + benefits
A genuinely interesting Group Head of Financial Reporting role has come up with one of the world's leading construction and asset management consultancies as a result of a promotion. It's based in their Leeds office, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, and sits at the centre of a c£200m global group with operations across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, India and the Middle East.
The business is part of one of the largest privately‑owned engineering and design collaboratives in the world, with c20,000 people across 300+ locations and you will be the bridge between the UK group and that parent.
It's a broad brief. The core of the role is external financial reporting across the UK entities and consolidation on an IFRS basis, but it expands well beyond that into management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, M&A support and finance transformation. If you've been a Group Reporting Manager looking for the next step up, or a senior practitioner ready for your first proper move into industry, this is a credible platform to do it from.
What you'll actually be doing
Owning the preparation of consolidated IFRS financial statements for the group, including the UK and Jersey entities, and quality‑reviewing what comes in from overseas subsidiaries. Reviewing and documenting group accounting policies. Acting as primary contact for the external auditors and driving the audit through to a clean, on‑time set of signed accounts.
Overseeing the monthly and weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting.
Running the monthly and quarterly management reporting submissions into the parent — currently delivered through OneStream.
Working alongside finance teams across five global regions to bring it all together accurately and on time. Training the wider finance function on IFRS developments.
Working with Finance and IT to keep improving how reporting is done.
And supporting the Group FD on due diligence and M&A as it comes up (and with exciting acquisition plans this is very likely!).
What they're looking for
A qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or equivalent — with post‑qualification experience either in a senior practice role or in industry.
Strong technical IFRS, including consolidation and revenue recognition on long‑term service contracts.
Real group reporting and audit experience, ideally including overseas subsidiaries. Confidence with financial systems and a genuine interest in continuous improvement rather than just keeping the lights on.
Clear communicator, well‑organised, collaborative — someone who can hold their own with auditors, regional finance leads and the global parent company in the same week.
The package
£70,000 base salary, with salary reviews twice a year
25 days' annual leave, rising to 27 after five years, with the option to buy more
Matched pension contributions
Life insurance
Healthy living subsidy (gym membership and similar)
Various local discounts and perks
This is a permanent, Leeds‑based role. The business is a serious global player with a 100+ year heritage, and they're actively investing in the finance function as the group continues to grow.
If it's of interest, get in touch for a confidential conversation — happy to share more on the team, the wider group structure, and what they're really looking for in the person.
