The Role: Cover Supervisor
Successful candidates will be placed in secondary schools across Winchester as a Cover Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include:
* Covering lessons during short-term teacher absences
* Supervising pupils while they complete pre-set work
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Ensuring students remain focused and engaged throughout lessons
No lesson planning, marking or active teaching required
Gain first-hand classroom experience
Ideal preparation for future teacher training

During Your Placement You Will:
* Keep a reflective journal of your day-to-day experiences
* Observe lessons in your subject specialism and across other subjects
* Develop knowledge of teaching strategies, behaviour management and differentiation
* Learn how schools support pupils pastorally, including assemblies and registration
* Understand key school policies and how they are applied
* Learn the syllabus within your subject area and apply your degree knowledge
* Support pupils with coursework and examination preparation
