Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance. Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day financial management, including payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers.
* Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices.
* Maintain positive supplier relationships and resolve any issues.
* Track market pricing trends to reduce costs where possible.
* Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
* Suggest improvements to financial systems and processes.
* Support internal reviews and financial audits.
* Act as the main point of contact for finance queries.
* Provide financial insight and updates directly to senior management.
* Work collaboratively with operations and project teams.
* Proactively manage accounts receivable, ensuring all invoices are chased and paid on time.
* Maintain accurate financial records and assist with management reporting.
* Monitor costs and highlight opportunities for savings.
* Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
* Support with annual accounts, quarterly VAT returns and audit preparation.
Experience
* Proven experience in financial management, with a strong background in financial accounting and services.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
* Expertise in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on strategic thinking.
* Familiarity with accounts payable processes and cost control methodologies is essential.
* Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in all financial reporting.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across departments. QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
* Educated to A Level/HNC (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
* Proven experience in finance, accounts, or financial management.
Desirable
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA – full or part-qualified).
* Experience working within construction, engineering, or electrical contracting.
