Overview
Working within the Acute Medicine, the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support for the production and running of medical rotas within the Emergency Medicine Group. Sponsorship is not eligible for this post. Secondment will be considered for internal candidates; if you are successful after interview, you must obtain approval from your current line manager to accept the offer.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Responsibilities
* Support the production and maintenance of resident doctor on-call rotas for acute medicine, ensuring compliance with the New 2016 Junior Doctor Contract and that rotas are equitable for all staff.
* Assist in the design, production and monitoring of new medical rota templates, ensuring compliance with New 2016 Junior Doctor Contract, EWTD, New Deal regulations, and bandings/enhancements.
* Produce and maintain live working rotas for acute medicine on MS Teams, updating with live swaps and names of booked doctors covering vacancies.
* Work with resourcing/medical workforce to produce work schedules for new starter trainee doctors and bespoke LTFT work schedules; distribute rotas to new starters ensuring compliance with contract standards.
* Support the production and maintenance of Consultant on-call rotas for the acute medicine throughout the Trust.
* Timely amendment of on-call rotas to reflect leave, swaps, sickness absence, or other required changes; identify and report gaps in on-call rotas to maximise coverage.
* Manage enquiries relating to on-call rotas and ensure timely responses; record all leave and swaps to keep rotas accurate; monitor sickness absence of doctors in training and report breaches to Clinical Leads and Service Managers as required.
* Lead management of leave for doctors who fall under the acute medicine line management; support interviews for Resident Doctor or Junior Clinical Fellow positions; undertake project work relating to rotas or rota management as required.
* Maintain and update the Tempre (Allocate) system for the acute medicine; negotiate locum cover with locum bookers within the divisional protocol and review CVs before submission for Consultant approval.
* Coordinate Directorate induction days for junior medical staff at the start of each rotation in liaison with the Training and Development Manager.
* Check incoming claims and invoices for accuracy and monitor locum expenditure; record and submit invoices to payroll with correct budget code by specialty.
* Provide general administration across the acute medicine to support a high-quality service and support the successful transition for Medic Online.
