Unlock your passions The Oak Veterinary Group We are a friendly and welcoming small animal first opinion practice, based in beautiful Pembrokeshire surrounded by the most stunning coast and countryside that Wales has to offer. Our main small animal surgery in Haverfordwest offers surgery, dentistry, internal laboratory, ultrasonography, radiography, and endoscopy. A Small Animal Surgery Certificate Holder operates from here performing Advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. Our Fishguard branch has internal laboratory, dentistry and surgical facilities and is the site of our Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy centre including an aquatic treadmill for hydrotherapy. Our Vets work closely with the Hydro and Physio team to provide multi-disciplinary care for our patients. We also have a small satellite consultation only surgery in St David's - the smallest city in the UK. Work-life balance is an absolute priority for our team - admin time is worked into our working diary, vets are encouraged to leave on time and to take a full hour lunch break. Each of our surgeries are within walking distance of the shops and cafes of the town centres and also of quiet and beautiful public footpaths that can be enjoyed during this hour. Our team of Veterinary Surgeons has over 100 years of experience between them, we have 5 experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Nurse and 3 Animal Nursing Assistants. We also have a Practice Manager, Reception Co Ordinator and an efficient Reception Support Team. Communication between our teams and within our vet team is excellent and we have regular vet and clinical team meetings to ensure we are all staying current and sharing our knowledge. We enjoy regular social events including our annual Team Building day in the summer and the epic Christmas "Do" as well as other smaller get togethers during the year. We have weekly "Feel Good Fridays" when the practice provides nibbles or cakes (depending on how healthy we are feeling) for everyone to enjoy. Step into a supportive start Your normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hour rota. A successful veterinary graduate would be enrolled on the IVC Graduate Academy programme - a comprehensive 2-year program designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and dedicated support they need to formulate their own successful career.
