My client is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join its growing team. This role has been created to strengthen the business's estimating and quotations function.
The successful candidate will initially split their time between conducting site surveys and office-based estimating activities before transitioning into a more office-focused position as they become established within the role. Full training and support will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified professional looking to move away from hands‑on installation work and develop a career in estimating, commercial support, and customer liaison.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Quotations
* Conduct site surveys and gather technical information required for quotations.
* Prepare accurate and timely quotations for maintenance, remedial, and small works projects.
* Review customer requirements and specifications.
* Assist with tender submissions and pricing activities.
* Ensure quotations are issued promptly following site visits.
Service & Maintenance Support
* Assist in scheduling maintenance activities and service visits.
* Support the coordination of remedial works and project delivery.
* Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and third‑party contractors.
* Maintain accurate records of quotations, surveys, and customer communications.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
* Electrical industry experience with a sound understanding of electrical systems and installations.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Ability to interpret technical information and prepare accurate quotations.
* Good communication and customer‑facing skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
* Previous experience in an estimating, quotations, technical sales, service coordination, or back‑office engineering role.
* Experience working with CRM, estimating, or service management software.
