City College Norwich is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Business Administrator to join our English and Maths Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is keen to develop administrative skills while supporting learners and academic teams in a vibrant further education environment.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Business Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality English and Maths provision across the college. Working closely with academic teams, registry, and examinations staff, you will help ensure that enrolment, assessment, examination and achievement processes run smoothly, accurately and on time.
You will gain hands‑on experience alongside structured apprenticeship training, developing skills in administration, data management, customer service and organisational processes within a busy college setting.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Head of English and Maths, you will:
Support examinations and achievement processes, liaising with academic teams, registry and awarding organisations
Collate, quality‑check and maintain accurate data for registrations, test bookings and learner achievements
Provide a high standard of customer service to students, staff and external stakeholders
Manage your own area of administrative responsibility, ensuring information is timely, accurate and complete
Work closely with internal teams to support English and Maths data, systems and processes
Assist with examination activities, including preparation of registers, issuing exam papers and dispatching materials
Support enrolment and timetabling processes through data checking and collation
Maintain awareness of JCQ, awarding organisation and funding regulations to ensure exam integrity
Enter, update, monitor and interrogate data across college systems, producing reports where required

What We’re Looking For
You will have:
GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 2
An interest in administration and customer service
Confidence using IT systems and databases
Competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Accurate data entry and keyboard skills
You will be someone who:
Is organised, proactive and able to work on their own initiative
Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team
Is focused on providing excellent service to students and staff
Is resilient, adaptable and eager to learn

Occasional evening or weekend working may be required
