Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About The Role
In this critical role you will help Lanes Group maintain the highest standards of health, safety and well‑being across our network of infrastructure projects. You will work 24/7, with flexible hours, weekends and an on‑call rota, supporting our 4,000‑strong team and delivering real and effective solutions to the Thames Water contract service.
* Carry out risk assessments and identify how risks can be reduced.
* Outline safe operational procedures that consider all relevant hazards.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are properly implemented.
* Ensure working practices comply with legislation and company standards.
* Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.
* Lead training with managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks.
* Deliver induction training for new starters.
* Record findings from inspections to produce reports suggesting improvements.
* Record incidents and accidents to produce statistics for managers.
* Keep up to date with HSE legislation and industry developments.
* Attend IOSH seminars and review professional journals.
* Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
* Ensure equipment is installed safely and manage disposal of hazardous substances.
* Advise on specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguards, and occupational diseases.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
* Carry out any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks as requested by health and safety leadership.
About You
* Benefit from having a NEBOSH qualification and IOSH membership, but it is not essential.
* Comply with health and safety standards and be aware of all Lanes Group policies.
* Be hard‑working, respectful and possess strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with the team.
* Have basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
* Have solid communication skills and be resourceful, proactive, and able to multi‑task under pressure.
* Be willing to learn and take advantage of development opportunities.
