Area: East Lothian (North Berwick area). Working Pattern: Part-time. Rate of Pay: £14 per hour.
Role purpose
The aim of the job is to assist with my morning routine enabling me to start the day off and live an independent life. I am a male in my mid 30’s and paralysed from the shoulder down having suffered a spinal cord injury. This means that I require assistance in all aspects of my life.
Responsibilities
* Assist me and my live in PA with a variety of tasks including basic moving and handling tasks, transfers from bed to chair and vice versa and personal care duties like washing / brushing teeth etc.
Requirements
* Must be physically able to carry out moving and handling duties.
* Good listener, able to work with others, reliable and punctual.
* No previous experience is required as long as you are willing to learn on the job after paid shadow shifts.
* Essential that the postholder is a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or is willing to join.
Hours
You would be required to assist me for 3 hours each morning from 8.15am ideally 4 mornings per week with occasional weekend work.
Benefits
* Holiday pay is also offered along with a rate of pay increase after 6 months.
