Tourism and Hospitality Area Manager Overview
We are working with a leading high street retail group looking for a Tourism and Hospitality Area Manager to lead performance across destination retail sites.
The Tourism and Hospitality Area Manager will be responsible for driving sales, improving operational standards, and delivering profitable growth, while supporting and developing site leadership teams.
This is a highly commercial role requiring strong leadership, retail expertise, and a focus on customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive sales performance and profitability across destination retail sites
* Lead, coach and support General Managers and site leadership teams
* Develop and deliver regional strategies and business plans
* Monitor and enhance customer service standards to improve the visitor experience
* Identify new commercial opportunities that support business growth
* Recruit, develop and manage direct reports
* Maintain strong visual merchandising and product presentation standards
* Analyse local trading conditions and competitor activity to maximise sales opportunities
* Lead and support local marketing initiatives to increase footfall
* Work closely with Operations, Property, Marketing, Buying and Merchandising teams to strengthen the brand and retail proposition
* Ensure clear and consistent communication across all sites
Catering & Visitor Experience
* Catering is an important part of our destination retail experience. In this role you will:
* Drive catering sales and profitability across sites
* Support local initiatives and menu development to enhance the customer offer
* Ensure catering facilities are well presented and commercially optimised
* Maintain full compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
* Senior retail leadership experience, ideally in multi-site or destination retail
* A strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering sales growth
* Excellent people leadership and coaching skills
* Experience managing high-footfall retail environments
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
