HMP Dovegate is a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Serco cares for up to 0 male adult prisoners over the age of serving a range of sentences including trial, remand, those awaiting sentence, and convicted men serving long and short-term sentences.
HMP Dovegate has the UK’s only privately run purpose-built therapeutic facility. The therapy offered helps offenders stop their pattern of offending.
Administrating and supporting the coordination of the fulfillment and accurate recording/analysis of purposeful activity spaces across HMP Dovegate, ensuring the right prisoners are engaging in the right activities, at the right time; as directed by their Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), whilst ensuring performance targets are met/exceeded.
Key Accountabilities
1. Contributing towards the implementation and fulfillment of the purposeful activity strategy, maximizing opportunities for prisoners to engage in work, education, and training that will benefit their rehabilitation and the efficient running of the prison.
2. Providing administrative support for all areas of the Learning and Skills Department.
3. Ensuring all scheduling records are complete and input onto CMS and appropriate local recording systems, including manual and electronic files.
4. Identifying prisoners eligible for education and activities and processing them in line with relevant timetables.
5. Ensuring activity places are allocated efficiently. Communicating with colleagues throughout the prison in an appropriate and professional manner. Understanding relevant policies and procedures and providing support as required by line management. Demonstrating a positive attitude to change and flexibility in the workplace.
6. Maintaining high levels of security and confidentiality regarding staff and prisoners, ensuring all information is treated confidentially. Administering all departmental systems, producing reports, and maintaining accurate records. Entering data for responsibility areas onto monthly reports and managing records through filing and archiving. Undertaking other duties as directed by senior management.
Qualifications
* GCSE C in Maths and English
* ECDL/IT qualifications
Experience
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
* Good working knowledge of databases
* Ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
