Position overview:
As the plant Electrician, you will be a member of the wider Maintenance Team that plays a critical part in supporting the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed. This role will involve setting up the brand-new production lines; flexibility is required. The Shift pattern is 6 days on, 4 days off - 8.5 hours per shift.
Key responsibilities include:
* Installs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting control, and PLC logic controls for all production processes and control equipment.
* Troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs all electrical equipment, components, transducers, and complex timing and inspection devices.
* Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.
* Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to resolve them.
* Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.
* Installs and troubleshoots facility power distribution and lighting services.
* Must display competent ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in an extremely neat and professional manner and conform to Ball wiring specifications.
* Updates wiring schematics and computer program printouts.
* Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
* Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs, JBSs).
What are we looking for?
* Experience in a similar role in a fast-paced, critical 24/7 manufacturing or industrial company
* City & Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3, or HNC/HND qualifications
* Clear communication across all levels and ability to train colleagues as needed
* Ability to use basic hand and power tools and electronic testing equipment
* Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment; solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
