This is a key role in our school team, and the successful applicant will take pride in ensure that our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming place for pupils, staff and visitors. You will be responsible for a wide range of site management duties, from general maintenance and security to health and safety compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workload and is proud to work with professionalism and care. Key Responsibilities: Security & Safety: Monitor CCTV and secure the premises daily. Operate and maintain heating systems and plant equipment. Respond to fire and security alarms and support evacuation procedures. Undertake risk assessments and adhere to COSHH procedures. Maintenance & Repairs : Perform minor repairs including minor plumbing and joinery tasks. Carry out decorating, painting and general upkeep of the premises. Respond to vandalism with immediate remedial action. Cleaning & Waste Management: Ensure cleanliness of school facilities and resolve blockages or spillages. Safely dispose of waste and manage recycling procedures. Resources & Record-Keeping: Maintain stock levels of cleaning and toiletry supplies. Keep logs of fire alarm checks and intruder systems. Oversee contractors and external visitors working on site. Porterage & Site Support: Set up furniture and equipment for school functions or classroom needs. Drive and maintain the school minibus if required. School Community Engagement : Support the school’s Catholic ethos and values. Comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies. Participate in ongoing training and staff development. What We’re Looking For : Experience in a similar premises or site management role. Basic maintenance, DIY or trade skills. Strong understanding of health and safety.
