SEN Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Location: Kingston, New Malden Full/Part-time: Full-time Salary: Negotiable depending on experience About the role/school This SEN Teaching Assistant position is based in a local authority-maintained, co-educational primary and nursery setting for children aged 3 to 11. The school offers a broad and inclusive curriculum with nursery provision through to the end of primary. The community-focused environment aims to inspire pupils' interests, extend knowledge and raise aspirations with stimulating learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Extra-curricular activities, including breakfast and after-school clubs, complement strong pastoral care, while high expectations for learning and behaviour help children develop academically, socially and personally in a respectful and supportive atmosphere. Job Responsibilities As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with additional learning needs in class and one-to-one settings Assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons and learning activities Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils access the full curriculum Contributing to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment Supporting extra-curricular activities as needed Qualifications/Experience The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have: Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service Right to work in the UK Experience working with children with SEN is desirable, alongside excellent communication, patience, and a commitment to inclusive education.
