Overview

Our Gallagher Corporate Claims division is seeking an ambitious and engaging Claims Handler to join our successful team in Llantrisant. You will join a cohesive and collaborative group of professionals who are highly experienced and knowledgeable in their field. Role Summary: As a Claims Handler, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our clients and contributing to the continued success of our division.


Responsibilities:

1. Provide appropriate technical advice to clients throughout the claims process.
2. Support, empathize, and manage clients' expectations regarding the claims process, timescales, policy, legal liability, and quantum.
3. Ensure all relevant systems are updated regularly with 100% data accuracy.
4. Support claims administration, managing claims from receipt to conclusion under supervision and within authority levels.
5. Request necessary documentation from clients, including completed claim forms, complying with FCA protocols and regulatory requirements.
6. Arrange appointments with loss adjusters or suppliers as appropriate.
7. Forward relevant documents to clients, notify insurers, and document accordingly.
8. Liaise with senior claims colleagues regarding issues or concerns.
9. Chase payments where applicable.
10. Maintain accurate records of correspondence and notes.
11. Process claims notifications and provide advice per SOPs.
12. Review insurer decisions, challenge repudiations if needed, and provide technical advice.
13. Proactively update clients and insurers on claim status and progress.
14. Monitor payments from insurers, ensuring timely collections and payments.
15. Support customer service activities, including attending PRISMs and client meetings.
16. Develop relationships with clients, insurers, and stakeholders to promote satisfaction.
17. Communicate clearly and seek customer feedback for continuous improvement.
18. Manage workload efficiently to meet SLAs.
19. Maintain accurate claims statistics and reports.
20. Identify and report complaints, handling them per procedures.
21. Stay updated on market, insurance, legislation, and technical knowledge.
22. Comply with standards, laws, and internal policies, especially regarding treating customers fairly and consumer duty.


Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous claims handling experience.
* Cert CII/ Dip CII qualification desirable; educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Experience in the insurance industry, especially in commercial claims.
* Strong client service orientation, planning, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, task-focused, and career-driven.
* Discretion in handling confidential information.
* Proactive, solution-oriented approach with problem-solving skills.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
