PERSONAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED FOR A 67 YEAR OLD FEMALE FOR ******* 5 HOURS PER WEEK LLANDEILO AREA ***** EARLY EVENINGS PREFERRED
Responsibilities
* THE INDIVIDUAL REQUIRES SUPPORT WITH REGULAR SHOWERING-
* THE INDIVIDUAL REQUIRES SUPPORT WITH MEAL PREPARATION AS THERE IS NUMEROUS FOOD THAT CAN CAUSE INTOLERANCE, WITH SOME INGREDIENTS THE INDIVIDUAL TRIES TO AVOID TO HELP HER FEEL WELL.
* THE INDIVIDUAL AVOIDS EATING READY MEALS OR MEALS PREPARED BY LOCAL EATERIES AS INGREDIENTS CAN CAUSE INTORERANCE AND MAKE HER FEEL UNWELL.
* ( BATCH COOKING WOULD BE IDEAL TO SUPPORT THIS INDIVIDUAL )
* PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUAL MAKING UP HER BED.
* ON DAYS WHEN THE INDIVIDUAL FEELS UNABLE TO THE PA CAN ASSIST TO HELP WITH HER LAUNDRY
* ON DAYS WHEN THE INDIVIDUAL FEELS UNABLE TO THE PA CAN WIPE DOWN WORK SURFACES IN THE KITCHEN/BATHROOM AFTER USE AND WASH DISHES.
* THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS AN ASSISTANCE DOG AND CAT AT THE PROPERTY
* Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
* Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community
* Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest
* Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
* To provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction
* Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
* Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours
* To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours
* To ensure compliance with Data Protection Act
Working Environment & Relationships
* Relationships: Communication / Nature of Contacts — Ability to develop supportive and caring relationship with employer. To undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner. Able to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.
* Job Working Environment: Working in employer’s homes and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
Person specification – Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Caring, patient and friendly.
* Responsible, reliable and honest.
* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
* Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives.
* Good time-keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements.
* Ability to keep simple records such as time recording.
* Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required.
* Able to develop long-term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required. This is determined by the needs of the employer and whether you live within walking distance.
* You must be prepared to have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours
* Be prepared to undergo training in order to best meet the employers need.
DBS Disclosure
Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer.
