HSE Manager
Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
Salary: £60k
Responsibilities:
1. Provide guidance and advice to the business on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards through Guidance and Observation visits.
2. Respond to requests for advice within the area of expertise, in consultation with the SHE Manager and others as appropriate.
3. Undertake risk assessments related to SHE.
4. Work proactively with operational teams during project lifecycle to ensure SHE considerations are integrated at all stages, including identifying relevant control measures.
5. Assist in implementing ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards.
6. Monitor company projects actively using the monitoring system and highlight areas of poor practice or significant risk.
7. Investigate incidents, produce detailed factual reports, determine root causes, and recommend improvements.
8. Liaise with enforcement authorities as necessary.
9. Support the SHE Manager in preparing, reviewing, and updating SHE policies and procedures.
10. Collaborate with senior managers and directors to develop and implement divisional strategies for SHE improvement.
11. Stay updated on new legislation and industry best practices through journals, websites, and site visits.
12. Raise SHE and sustainability awareness via toolbox talks, briefings, and deliver training when needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum requirement).
2. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in OHAS (desired).
3. Proactive support experience for operational business units.
4. Up-to-date knowledge of UK SHE legislation.
5. Experience with systems accredited to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
6. Relevant construction sector experience.
