Job Description
Mobile Digital Forensic Investigator/Digital Forensic Analyst - Birmingham City Centre
Must be able to work 5 days a week in Birmingham and be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)
Job Purpose
To undertake operational tasks such as the analysis of a wide range of mobile devices supplied for forensic examination. Produce written reports and statements relating to this work for possible presentation in court.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide written estimates to both the prosecution and defence for the forensic examination of digital equipment.
* Develop examination strategies on a case-by-case basis to prepare outline summaries of proposed work programmes to agreed costs.
* Organise your own day to day casework activities to ensure efficiency, standards, and costs are maintained.
* Work in accordance with best scientific and commercial practices to deliver complex investigations on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Produce reports and deliver expert evidence on findings.
* Review colleagues’ reports/statements to ensure quality and standards.
* Handle exhibits according to evidential rules and safeguards to maintain case integrity.
* Provide clear briefings and customer presentations.
* Liaise with customers regarding case progression.
* Stay updated on technological advancements.
* Suggest improvements to processes for better quality and efficiency.
Knowledge, Experience, And Technical Skills
* Degree or equivalent with recognized qualifications in digital forensic investigation.
* Proven forensic computer investigation experience, including initial imaging, analysis, and court testimony as an Expert.
* Knowledge of operating systems like Android, iOS, and proprietary systems.
* Experience working ethically in a forensic environment.
* Understanding of UK legislation.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Familiarity with court procedures and expert witness etiquette.
