Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership is inviting applications for the position of Adult Public Protection Lead Officer. This role is part of a Public Protection Team, which includes learning and development, and audit/quality assurance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the Lead Officer for Child Protection.
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination, strategic planning, and monitoring of Adult Protection activities on behalf of the West Dunbartonshire Adult Protection Committee (APC) and partner agencies. The role involves promoting and supporting all aspects of public protection work with staff and partners.

Requirements
This position involves Regulated Work with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Membership with the PVG scheme is therefore essential. Further details about this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
The employment for this role is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which are 'spent' under the Act. Failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
