An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the wide-ranging and forward-thinking West of Scotland Cancer Network to work closely with clinical teams and to support the Network in driving improvements in the delivery of cancer care across the region. Applicants should be enthusiastic, flexible, accessible and efficient, to support delivery of our objectives.
This post is pivotal within the West of Scotland Cancer Network, based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, providing comprehensive management and service improvement support to The Managed Clinical Networks (MCNs) and regional workstreams for cancer.
This post is part of a team responsible for leading and driving forward the work of the MCNs and the delivery of delegated work streams that form part of the regional and national cancer work programme. This includes, for example, service planning, redesign and improvement, development and implementation of regional/national guidelines, establishing and maintaining a comprehensive programme of clinical audit, and project managing specific work programmes. This will comprise initiating work streams, developing and agreeing work plans - including identifying responsible leads and timelines for delivery - leading project groups, undertaking preparatory work and progressing regional actions.
A key component of this post will be the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team with a wide variety of colleagues, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure delivery of tangible improvements in care delivery.
The post holder will work closely with the WoSCAN senior management team, other MCN Managers and Clinical Leads to take forward improvement initiatives and delivery of cross-cutting projects.
Applicants should be educated to degree level, have project management and service improvement experience, and have held a management or senior clinical role within the NHS (or equivalent large complex organisation), for at least 3 years. During this time you will have demonstrated an ability to lead teams and successfully deliver change and service improvement. A knowledge and understanding of cancer care is highly desirable as is the ability to work flexibly across disparate and diverse organisations, and an understanding of medical terminology and jargon. Managing multiple tasks and switching quickly from one project to another is key to support the needs of the role.
The hours of the post are 37, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The role will function within a flexible hybrid (home/office based) working model designed to meet the needs of the Network.
