Description This is an exciting opportunity to lead Nationwide’s SAS Viya platform team. As the E3 Engineer in charge of the team, you will articulate and deliver the roadmap for the platform, ensuring that you balance keeping the platform up-to-date and in compliance with delivering key features that improve your user’s experience of the tool. Working with your team, you will also support day-to-day operations, ensuring it remains available and serving colleagues’ needs. In addition, you will be responsible for line management of a small team of Engineers, ensuring that you support and develop them, alongside the technical requirements for the role. You will provide both technical stewardship and be able to create an environment that allows your team to excel and innovate with the platform you all own. Responsibilities What you’ll be doing You will lead a team of Engineers to deliver against a roadmap of change for our SAS Viya platform, ensuring that the platform remains in compliance with Nationwide standards and continually improving the service for your user base. Your days may see you leading a team to diagnose faults and provide fixes, developing changes to our Azure deployment to deliver new capabilities, or working with control and compliance functions to ensure the platform remains fit for purpose. About you As a minimum, you will have/be: Experience maintaining an application within Azure, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible to deploy infrastructure, automated through deployment automation tools such as Azure DevOps or Github Actions Experience using Kubernetes – especially through a Cloud Platform like Azure Kubernetes Service Experience maintaining a software product with a large user base and be able to demonstrate how you engage with and support colleagues in your user community Driven to improve the service you offer and will be able to demonstrate a track record in researching solutions, developing designs, and implementing changes to a cloud platform or software product, based on requirements Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
