Circa salary of £55K depending on experience, plus pension, employee assistance programme, life assurance cover, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure.

The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced finance professional who shares our vision to help those involved in the management of sports pitches, landscape, and amenity facilities in the UK to achieve “quality surfaces through excellence in grounds management”.
Our ideal candidate will have the vision and leadership skills to drive the strategic financial planning of the Grounds Management Association (GMA). They will be responsible for leading a small finance team and will oversee all financial aspects of the business and ensure the financial health and stability of the organisation. They will also act as Company Secretary and ensure the GMA is fully compliant with all statutory duties in this regard.
This role is a great opportunity for a motivated and highly experienced finance professional with a successful track record of leading, developing and management of a finance and accounting function.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team and the board of directors. This role is instrumental in guiding our financial strategy, contributing significantly to our sustainable growth, and our ongoing commitment to “making sport possible”. In addition to leading the capital planning, budgetary and annual audit activities, they will oversee all aspects of GMA risk management and assurance function. They will provide insight and advice on legal, procurement and contractual matters and implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system.
They will have solid experience in all aspects of Management Accounting. This should include in-depth experience and up to date working knowledge in finance, accounting, budgetary and cash flow management, typically gained after 10 years of working in a finance, accounting or related field with 3 years operating at a senior level. Additionally, they will demonstrate evidence of effective leadership, management and motivation of staff together with excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge and be experienced in:
* procurement, negotiation and management of contracts
* payroll administration and understanding of HR related matters
* investment management
* Corporate Governance & Company Secretary duties, including presenting, advising and working with board of directors
* fixed assets management
* business risk and assurance management
· working with professional advisors such as external auditors, lawyers, etc
