Occupational Therapist (Acute Medicine Cardiorespiratory) – Band 7
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Respiratory Medicine team at West Middlesex Hospital. The role focuses on leading occupational therapy services, supporting patients with frailty and complex needs, and developing integrated pathways to support hospital discharge and recovery home-first goals in collaboration with community teams.
Responsibilities
* Specialist practitioner in the assessment and management of older adult patients (admitted to West Middlesex Hospital).
* Apply expert knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning to provide specialist support and advice to patients and staff within the Respiratory, Cardiology, Surgical, Enhanced Care, and ICU settings (depending on experience); manage a caseload with highly complex discharge planning throughout hospitalization.
* Operational management and clinical leadership of the Respiratory Medicine Occupational Therapy team; drive service development of OT in Critical Care.
* Lead the development of the Occupational Therapy service in the Intensive Care Unit and participate in relevant training/meetings to build the service pathway.
