What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drive strategic procurement activities, negotiating contracts and renewals, and supporting market analysis to optimise supplier options.
2. Build strong partnerships with Retail and Business Development Directors, P&L owners (up to SLT), and cross-functional teams to influence decision-making and align procurement with business objectives.
3. Provide leadership, ensuring the direct reports have a customer service mindset and work in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
4. Negotiate with suppliers on both new contracts and renewals and, where commercially justifiable, undertake market scanning to support the provision of options to P&L owners.
5. Ensure robust supplier relationship management, contract compliance, risk mitigation, and sustainable sourcing aligned with health, safety, and environmental standards.
6. Manage disputes, contract variations, and leverage group procurement synergies to deliver continuous improvement and protect company interests.
7. Identify and leverage group procurement synergies where relevant.
8. Ensure risks are understood and mitigated through effective contracts, processes, and relationships with suppliers and contractors, aligning with health, safety, environment, and quality standards.
9. Demonstrate excellent people leadership, inspiring and developing high-performing individuals, fostering trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
10. Build lasting stakeholder relationships with a service-oriented mindset, exceeding expectations through excellent communication and collaboration skills.
11. Possess expertise in contracts and procurement processes, including drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on legal and commercial knowledge.
12. Deep understanding of contract and commercial law, managing risks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
13. Successfully manage bid processes, including sourcing, documentation, evaluation, and awarding contracts.
14. Negotiate complex contracts across sectors, leveraging commercial acumen for strategic outcomes.
15. Communicate clearly and persuasively, tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
16. Excel in stakeholder engagement and decision-making support through presentation and facilitation skills.
17. Experience in procurement or supply chain, with a comprehensive understanding of sourcing and supplier management.
18. Innovate by leveraging automation, robotics, and AI to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
19. Commit to health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability, supporting EDF's responsible business goals.


Job Description
