Senior Planning Officer
* £24.37 - 30.92 per hour PAYE/ Umbrella
* Chelmsford
* Driving licence required
* Temporary position - 6 months rolling
As a Senior Planning Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
* Taking a lead role in the development and delivery of planning policies, strategies, and projects.
* Managing and assessing planning applications, providing expert advice, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape future development plans and improve the overall quality of our city.
* Conducting site visits, preparing reports, and presenting recommendations to the Planning Committee.
* Keeping up-to-date with changes in planning legislation and participating in continuous professional development activities.
Experience:
* Conduct thorough research and analysis on planning applications and proposals
* Provide expert advice on planning matters to internal and external stakeholders
* Assess the environmental impact and sustainability of proposed developments
* Prepare reports and presentations for planning committees and public consultations
* Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations
* Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
Note: Due to the nature of this role, a valid driving licence is required.
Technologies:

* Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
